I was inspired after find a cranberry-walnut chicken salad over here. This recipe called for cranberries, which I did not have, so I had to improvise/substitute/experiment - which is what I like to do more than follow recipes to the T.
Ingredients:
1/4 cup dates
1/4 cup raisins
1/2-2/3 cup mayo
2-3 sprigs worth of fresh thyme leaves
2-3 tablespoons of chopped fresh cilantro
1/3 cup walnuts, toasted
2 tablespoons dijon mustard
1 florida cherry pepper, from a jar (pickled?), diced
1/4 cup diced red onion
salt & pepper, to taste
1 teaspoon sugar
2 cups or so of grilled chicken, cut up
Directions:
Combine all the ingredients. Serve as a side dish or on some buttered toast or a bagel or whatever! I found that this salad was even better the next day.
Creativity expert Sir Ken Robinson challenges the way we’re educating our children. He champions a radical rethink of our school systems, to cultivate creativity and acknowledge multiple types of intelligence.
Sir Ken Robinson makes an entertaining and profoundly moving case for creating an education system that nurtures (rather than undermines) creativity.
Why don’t we get the best out of people? Sir Ken Robinson argues that it’s because we’ve been educated to become good workers, rather than creative thinkers. Students with restless minds and bodies — far from being cultivated for their energy and curiosity — are ignored or even stigmatized, with terrible consequences. “We are educating people out of their creativity,” Robinson says. It’s a message with deep resonance. Robinson’s TEDTalk has been distributed widely around the Web since its release in June 2006. The most popular words framing blog posts on his talk? “Everyone should watch this.”
What all children have in common is that they will take a chance. They’re not frightened of being wrong. I don’t mean to say that being wrong is the same thing as being creative. But if you’re not prepared to be wrong, you’ll never come up with anything original. By the time they get to be adults, most kids have lost that capacity. They have become frightened of being wrong.
In a www.nytimes.com article by DAVID M. HERSZENHORN and CARL HULSE, Published: November 5, 2008 entitled: “Democrats Vow to Pursue an Aggressive Agenda” we find the top priorities of the Demorats Party:
“Flush with victory built on incursions in the South and West, Congressional Democratic leaders promised to use their new power to join President-elect Barack Obama in pursuing an aggressive agenda that puts top priority on the economy, health care, energy and ending the Iraq war.”
The FOCA states that (the official Library of Congress definition):
“To prohibit, consistent with Roe v. Wade, the interference by the government with a woman’s right to choose to bear a child or terminate a pregnancy, and for other purposes.”
Obama said he would sign this into law as one of his first acts as President.
All those that voted for Obama voted for partial birth abortions and abortions without justification other than selfishness and the rare case of a mother whose life is “threatened”.
Chimps are always funny. You can’t go wrong with a chimp. Put clothes on a chimp, instant funny. Put a chimp in a space rocket. Funny. Give a chimp a weapon. Funny. One of my favorite chimps is Lancelot Link: Secret Chimp. The sheer genius of this show is untold.
#2 Monkeys
Closely related to chimps are monkeys. Don’t even try to tell me that monkeys aren’t funny. Cause you can’t. It is impossible to say that monkeys aren’t funny. Abu from Alladin. Need I say more? I think not.
#3 Goats
Goats are funny. Photoshop a goat into a photo of your friends: instant and pure funny.
#4 Tiny Dogs
Every tiny doggy I have ever seen or known has been funny. Consequently, ever tiny dog i will see in the future will undoubtedly be funny. Especially Chihuahuas. When I saw the trailer to Beverly Hills Chihuahua, I had a large grin on my face the entire time. Check it.
#5 Snakes
Just kidding, snakes are not funny at all
#6 Spiders
Also just kidding, perhaps more so.
#6.5 Billy Goats
I am not sure where the billy came from but it sure makes a goat funnier.
#7 Squirrels/Chipmunks
Just the sound of the word squirrel is funny, not to mention they behavior patterns and downright cuteness. I think my favorite squirrel is Hammy from Over the Hedge.
#8 Jabba the Hut
#9 Al’s Mom
Al’s mom is Funny. And no one has ever seen her. However, we all see her shadow, at about nighttime each day.
